The artistic vision of Amalia Ixmalé (about Amalia), the daughter of Ohki Forest (about Ohki Forest) & Eliberto Jimenez (about Eliberto), exquisitely combines ancient spiritual symbols & the traditional skills of Maya women weavers with contemporary designs, bringing Maya beauty into our daily lives. This emerging line includes exclusive pieces of clothing & altar cloths, which blend classic textiles & Maya visions with our modern needs.
Her name, Ixmalé (pronounced “ISH ma lay”), means Abundance of Corn in Maya language in order to call more abundance to the Maya women weavers she helps.

As a 4th generation healer, Amalia offers powerful Crystal Healings for balance & spiritual restoration. She has followed Ohki’s Native ways & ceremonies since she was born. She supports the renewal of Maya spiritual traditions at Ohki’s Medicine centers in Chiapas & New Mexico. She creates Medicine pouches & spiritual necklaces which contain carefully selected natural elements & sacred stones. Her art & work hold magical healing energies & the special powers of the elemental forces of the sacred mountains of Chiapas where she lives.

Fair Trade Craft Events
Red Wind collaborates directly with some of the most talented Maya artists & artisans in Chiapas. Red Wind members periodically attend craft fairs in New Mexico to provide fair trade opportunities for the one-of-a-kind pieces of Chiapas artisans, women & daughters. We also host at the NM Red Wind Center Ohki Forest & Amalia Ixmalé who, besides offering their Native teachings & Healing sessions, also provide opportunities for the Maya families to present their exquisite Maya weavings, embroidery & Medicine pouches, & to learn of Maya culture & ancient indigenous traditions.
